So i was taking our my door shims because removing this stupid cell phone hands free thing that came with my car and the door shim screws would not come out. I used very light pressure and they came up a bit but they would not come out. I think the threads were f***ed. So after using about 7 different tools and screw drivers i decided to take the drill out.

I start with light short bursts but nothing then i just held the trigger down and nothing except for all 5 screws being stripped. so then the frustration kicked in. Then i decided to put my whole body weight on the drill while holding the trigger down. This is what happened.

^ as you can see the drill bit completely poked through the screw and went about 2 inches into the open hole under it. I pulled up as soon as i felt it go through which then took the bit out of the drill.

after that i decided to take a walk from it, take some pics, post it on nico and laugh about it. I dont know what i can do about it now though, maybe ill find some more screws or something.

So my question for you is have you ever been so frustrated working on your car that you did something you regret doing?

Oh and by the way i apologized about 19 times to the car for treating it like that.

Edit- sorry for the crappy pics

yeah those plastic screws strip easy

the way to do it is with very little pressure(like none) you turn the screw drive and lift it up as the screw comes up to keep no pressure holding it down

and then get it with some needle nose

i was in a really angry mood all day. lol lesson learned i guess. Dont work on your car when your already frustrated before you even pick up a tool. Plus i was using too big of a phillips bit for the screw. And im too much of a lazy a** to find the next best thing.

I have never really been angry with power tools.

Though i did get very angry trying to get the fenders off of my s13 because you need to have a good number of extensions, more then what i had handy.

Ohhhhhhhh but i was around when a buddy of mine had just finished rebuilding his 2jz and right as he was installing the intake manifold last bolt and everything, turbo mounted i mean EVERYTHING done. He broke one of the studs, he said combination's of words i have never seen used together haha.

it is good that you laughed about it though, i laughed reading it and got an image in my head of that "German Gamer Kid" that used to be a pretty funny video on Youtube haha.

Good times, Thank you for sharing.

What you should have done was either use a sharp pick to get up under the head of the screw and screw it out, or if it would come up a little ways, use a bladed screwdriver to pop it the rest of the way out.

I used a very sharp pick to get under the screw one time as well as a thin flat head but nothing worked. then i tried to calm down and use plyers to unscrew it when it came out a little bit, but the it just squished the plastic around it so i was like k f*** it. and thats what the end result was.
