First, let me say its a weber i purchased for my z22 82 720. I got it from Webercarbsdirect.com

Second, I dont think its a 'true' weber, no weber stamp on the casing but if you read the 'about us' on webercarbsdirect.com, it appears they own the rights to produce a carb like a weber.

Third, whoever decided that those hitachi carbs were a smart design, :wtf2:, took me two hours just to get the old carb off.

Next, whoever wrote the instruction booklet for the weber carb is a completel moron and has never turned a wrench in their life. Its a good thing I like puzzles because I got it figured out. The install is super easy if you dont follow the instructions. lol.

Last problem. I get the carb installed, super easy clean install, and the damn linkage that use the pedal cable is on the carb BACKWARDS. There is no way to properly install the cable stop bc it pulls the linkage the wrong way. Im stuck now and have no idea what to do.

I have to do some small modding to the L bracket that bolts to the block that holds the cable in place. It wouldnt clear the weber dashpot so it needs a little bending.'

I have no idea what Im going to do about the linkage. Im calling weber tomorrow and hopefully its something easy that I have over looked. Im sure I could rig something to work for a little bit but i dont have time for that this week.

Anyone else have this issue? The install was simple until i went to install that linkage.

blame it on stupidity, blame it on being in the sun too long, blame it on the beer......... but................i should just flip the link. if its push right now, i need to place it down and that means it will pull which should fix it.

Been hitting the crown royal so I will fool with it tomorrow and post up on if my dumbass fixed it.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I was going to ask for pics to tell you where to go with it... but it sounds like you got it figured out! Cheers!
