Anybody else have a problem with power windows freezing in the "down" position in sub-zero weather? Is this just a function of the cold or will there need to be a permanent fix?

Earlier this winter, when the temp went from above freezing to well below freezing within hours, our windows froze in the up positions. This has happened with every vehicle I've owned at some point.

I would assume that it freezes because there is some water or something that's frozen to the window.

Hey, good to see someone out here in my "neck of the woods"! Mine have been frozen closed and finally will open if the cabin gets warm enough. My previous vehicles have also done the same. I wouldn't rish leaving them down in the cold. Did you leave them down in the garage? Hope they finally got closed with the winds whipping over the weekend!!

Yeah happened to me this morning after temperatures around 8 deg. F. Also, the engine needed some time before it ran smoothly.

If the AUTO up/down feature isn't working, that's for a different reason. Try this:

Roll the window all the way down. Then hold the window button to roll it up, but keep holding it up for 10 seconds after the window has completely closed. your auto function should work again after that.
