I got a question for any of you guys with a Frontier. I got a 98 Frontier 2wd. During the winter months the truck makes a rattling noise that sounds like its coming from the front end somewhere. During the summer months I never hear it. The colder outside the louder it is. The truck has done this the whole time I've owned it (4 1/2 years) and nothing has ever gone wrong with it, it just drives me crazy. Anybody else's do this/think they know what it is?

No, its not the infamous "KA timing chain rattle". I have a 91 240 so I know all about that. Pretty sure its something in the suspension since the truck has to be moving and turning the truck and going over bumps provokes the noise. Only does it when its cold outside, not when the engine is cold.

Another thought...

In this picture it's the red bushing that the sway-bar pivots in. Once the factory bushings wear they let the bar bounce around in there. warmer months its less likely to happen due to heat expansion to the bushing... Just a thought
