So I got a technical question hopefully someone on here can help me with.

I have a 2001 frontier v6

I am swapping in a QD32eti
I already got a mechanical fuel pump and know what it takes to convert it to completely mechanical
the engine came with an automatic I do have the flex plate and torque converter
I can convert it to a 5 speed manual but I have to source the transmission from UK or Japan and the flywheel is Australia only.

My harness came cut to 20 pieces or so...

So my question is I if were to pull the v6 and kept the harness completely in tact and just tuck and tape what I don't need would I be able to use my original harness and ECU to shift the transmission?

I know how to make all the sensors including RPM would work just not sure what makes the transmission shift

The TCM would ultimately dictate how to control the solenoids and how/when to make the transmission shift. It probably wouldn't be ideal for a diesel though... if you're under wide open throttle, it might not shift until way higher in RPMs (maybe out of the range of the diesel).

I'm always an advocate for manual swaps :)

Well I think the end goal will be manual just want to have it up and going to where I can do the manual swap any time.
