Front Wheel Loose?

I seem to be lacking the knowledge to figure this one out. When I raise the front of my car on a jack I can grab my driver's side wheel and shake it. There seems to be way too much play in there, especially compared to the other wheels. I've also noticed that my steering seems to be a little loose of late. Ideas?

BTW...I did check my lug nuts, they're nice and tight

Wheel bearing is shot.

sounds like a wheel bearing like rico said. replace both fronts when you do it.
