OK Guys, a friendly warning. I was at the local oil change place the other day and the guy comes out from under my car and tells me my front sway bar has come loose from the right front wheel and the nut is missing. Imagin my surprise. I had been driving it and had NEVER noticed a difference.

I went straight to the dealership and told them about it. Sure enough, the nut holding it to the front suspension had come off. The Asst. Service Mgr. and Head Mechanic said they had never seen anything like it before. They said by looking at it that it had been separated for some time.

I had been meaning to take it in anyways b/c the black pieces on door pillars B and C had blemishes in them. They kept it overnight and fixed me up and apologized for my inconvenience.

Just a heads up to the community since I could not tell a difference while driving and wanted all to be aware. Still love the car.

Cheers.

Up to a point not having a front sway bar is not a bad thing, other than a little more body roll in extreme curves.

The front bar is there to introduce progressively increasing understeer to protect drivers in the rain.

I am not surprised that you did not feel it.

In most cases of hardware of this type (sway bars, front strut tower bars, dross-drilled rotors, etc.) the effects are generally subtle and have their most usefulness in extreme driving conditions. Which is generally not the way that most people drive, or certainly not all the time!
