Hey all,

I just got the front sway bar bushing set from energysuspensionparts.com, and they advertise the front sway bar set as a 20mm sway bar for the 94 d21 4x4.

I took the front sway bar bushings off, and it turns out my stock sway bar is 25mm. Is this an optional larger sway bar? the end links are also longer on the 20mm kit than the 25mm sway bar that i have...

where can i get the proper kit? Cheers,Marko

i could use the stock endlink bolts and bushings, but i'd like to also put the new sway bar bracket bushings on.. gah.

what size are all you guys' stock swaybars?? wondering if the previous owner upgraded or something.. because 2 bolts were missing on the passenger side sway bar bracket mount.

actually the FSM specifies a 24mm swaybar.. which is probably what i have i mismeasured by a mm. interesting.

yeah... i wouldn't say they upgraded it

the missing bolts are most likely due to having work done at a jiffy lube or something cause as well as holding the sway bar on they also hold the skid plate... so if they removed the plate they may have lost them at some point

yeah i keep a bucket of 'nissan' bolts so i had some similar bolts that i replaced them with.. this truck has several stripped out bolts on the skid plate though, as well as the valve cover... some special people must have worked on it previously..

It's not uncommon for the passenger side bolts to strip out like you described. IDK why, but it seems to be a problem. They are likely stripped and have been ripped out by force of the sway bar.

I had to drill and tap mine to a bigger size. It's hard to decide what size bolt to use because the head of the bolts are so close together. If you go much bigger, they just won't fit side by side. So, I tightened bolt #1 down. Then I stacked some ground down washers under bolt #2, and torqued it down. The bolts I used have a 1/2 inch thick shank and 19mm head, they are huge, and haven't come back loose.

The sway bar itself is probably untrued from the uneven forces, and you will feel it and see it as you re-tighten everything back down.

The holes in the lower control arms where the end links connect to might be enlarged by the end links being unevenly acted upon by not having the passenger side frame mount all this time.

When you do get it all back together, you will notice how it wallows less through corners.
