Hey guys..for awhile now my bumper has been scraping on the ground only when i make a right turn. The lower left side of my bumper will scrape and it drives me nuts..people at traffic lights look at me and laugh lol..anyways i figure a nice quality strut bar will fix the problem but I am unsure of if they really work..I mean I know they work i am not doubting them because I have read many good things on them but I just want to get some final opinions in my own thread before I buy one..plus i dont even know if it will be enough to stop me from scraping..what confuses me is how they work.. can someone explain to me how a bar going from strut to strut decreases body roll? thanks guys

What kind of suspension setup do you have? I'd check if drivers side strut/coilover is shot. Basically, when you turn left and right struts should behave same. I have like 3 inches clearance under the front bumper, but never scrapes when turn. BTW, I do have front STB.

I have megan racing coilovers and im on 15 inch rims and street tires (sidewall height is 65) so i have good clearance too..probably the same as you, about 3 inches i will have to measure to be sure..but i dont remember it doing this until awhile after I installed the coilovers so i was thinking the same thing a blown strut..but wouldnt the car bounce and behave badly/ noticeably? it doesnt seem to be doing that..when i push down with my hands on the left front fender as much as i can it is very stiff.

i don't think your problem is not having a front strut bar. what size tire exactly are you running? have you checked your clearance of your fender and your tire when your wheel is turned?? and what wheels are you running? you say 15inch so these could be stock or aftermarket and if aftermarket what offset and size maybe you need to roll your fenders.

^^Bottom of front bumper is scraping, not the fender.

This is what you need to do. Make sure to set dampenings same left and right, measure and see everything's same on both sides like springs and threads. Here's the tip. When you adjust ride height both wheels must be in the air. Otherwise, it'll be off cuz sway bar will shift the load to left and right.

well actually on the way home from work tonight i found out it wasnt the front bumper scraping..usually i ride with my windows up because the noise is so loud its embarrasing when people look lol..but i got off of work at 2a.m. so nobody is on the streets and its nice and cool out and with the window down i noticed it sounded like it was on the side of the car..it was funny because i backed out of my parking spot and turned the wheel to the right...usually i go the opposite way ..so when i did this i heard it scrape and i was thinking to myself what the hell...there is no way thats the bumper.. i am going in reverse and 2mph there cant be body roll..so i listened really closely and thought maybe something was scraping my tire and then i thought to myself no its nothing to do with the tire it definately is something scraping the ground...well after making a few more right hand turns at 5mph a.k.a no body roll possible and listening super close i realized it was the mudflap haha..didnt even bother to check it out when i got home because its so dark..but i think it may have somehow come loose..if not then idk why its scraping because it started recently

UPDATE: I'm an idiot..lol..well i found what was causing the noise..a piece of that plastic liner in the fender wall above the tire came loose and how it was sitting caused the ridiculously loud noise only when I turned my wheel to the right...i wish you guys could here the noise because i think anybody would say it definately sounds like the bumper scraping the ground..i am stunned at how this little piece of plastic caused this loud noise..but anyways thanks for your help guys much appreciated
