i just finished installing my new speakers and deck. i have a RF P4004 amp for the speakers and a crunch 500w amp for two kenwood 10's. up front i have infinitiy referance components, they're 270w max, 90 rms and in rear i have sony explode 6x9's in boxes rated at 240 max and 80 rms. im running an alpine deck and its all set to center. the rear speakers pound and sound great but the front seems to be very quiet. i turned the rears off and i can hear the fronts but they're still really quiet. anything i should check or do or is this normal?

Was it a frequency/cross over or gain/input level?

Another thing, I would suggest that you make an enclosure for you Components.

Here's an good way to hear what the difference will be without actually making the enclosure. Take the 6x9s in the back out of their enclosure. Then listen to them. You'll notice a night and day difference. Putting the fronts in enclosures would give you a similar effect

not a bad idea but how would i get boxes for speakers in the doors? the 240 has plastic boxes for speakers but they're somewhat open in the back, parially

Crutchfield and other places offer "foam hats" that can make a good back baffle.

What rex linked to is what is normally used, but I suggest that you either 'glass them or put some sort of coating to make them a little better sealed.
