Hey guys. My brother recently purchased a 95 240SX SE. Well, the front speakers do not work. Now, I have located the front speakers amp located on the bottom of the rear deck, and it has power going to the acc and turn on wires. Is there a fuse for this amp or something? Or am I overlooking something? I have already installed decent Pioneer speakers to make sure it wasn't the speakers, so I know that the speakers I am using are good. I am baffled by this. I drive a Maxima and this is completely different from mine. Thanks all......

Whoa.. I'm experiencing the same problem with my S14. I thought it was just a loose connection in the doors..

ok,i install stereos for a living---the absolute easy way to do this is to buy a aftermarket headunit, then wire the speakers directly into the headunit. This will save you money on an amp and youll get a better player- try my favorite budget unit---the clarion 725 available on ebay for about $200.

The amps for the S14 are behind the backseat and underneath the rear speakers right? Are they Clarions?

I had the same problem (left front speaker was out) for the longest time. . .

I finally got a new deck and. . . after finally tracking down the wiring schematics to bypass the factory amps, the front speaker worked fine. . . In fact, I think it sounded better. . .

I don't mean to steal the post but how much power does the stock amps put out? my new deck is 50x4. . .

so yah, seems like that problem is pretty typical. . .

Check cross wireing and harness that amp hasnt put power somewhere it should'nt have. Be sure to test the speaker and amp. Check amp fuse and wireing to the amp itself. Also make sure the amp is drawing the amount of power is should. If drawing too much it can cause problems.

I can scan them for you...give me your email address

Can someone please give a detailed instruction on how to bypass the 95 SE amps? Like what wires can be cut, what wires connect to where etc. I looked at the schematics and it looked straightforward, but then when i went to the car, I couldn't figure it out which amp was which..is the driver side amp for the front or the passengerside amp for the front? Thanks

I'm not sure how to bypass the amp. But I do know that if you stand behind your car facing forward, the amp on the driver side (left hand side) is for the front speakers. The amp on the passenger side (right hand side) is for the rear deck speakers.

they are located in the trunk right under the parcel shelf. If you stick your head in the truck and look up towards where the speakers are, you'll see two silver boxes hanging there with wire harness coming out of them. I have a 95SE, but I've seen base models without the amps. It could have been because they were taken out already, but on my car that's where they are.
