After a few weeks of waiting I finally have all my speakers/adaptors/head units and I have my head and rear speakers installed. I soldered Blue/Yellow + and Blue/White - for drivers side and Brown + and Brown/White - for passenger side as I had read on the site. Unfortunately they do not even turn on. The rears work fine however. Does anyone know what could be the problem because I have no experience with this stuff at all.

Oh, I just checked the head unit wiring harness and it is correct so my assumption of the problem is incorrect.

is this in your 1990? do the wires go directly from the head to the speakers, or is there something in between?

I figured it out. Either someone installed the factory wiring wrong or Guatam's write up is incorrect because my right speaker's wire color polarities were opposite. I ripped out the head again and hooked it up opposite to the directions on the driver's side and they worked and that kicked the right on too for some reason. We may never know but they work....Thanks anyhow though.
