Front Speaker Issue

Hi all,

New to the forum and recently purchased a 2001 QX4. My front speaker don't work at all and tried to adjust fade and nothing. It is the stock stereo and I'm assuming the stock speakers. Might there be a simple reason for why they are not working like a blown fuse? Any help would be appreciated and have to say of all the car forums I have belonged to, this one has great reference materials and resources.

Welcome! Most likely it's a loose/disconnected wire not making contact with the speaker terminal.

Yeah I'm thinking that too now, the front speakers came on today for a while, then stopped working again. Thanks Rogue.

Try with radio only. When I listen to the radio I have sound from both speakers and when I listen CD then often I have only one speaker.

Have you found the problem? When I play CDs I only get sound from the right side, but I get all speakers when I play the radio. I'm thinking its the head unit itself

I upgraded to a modern receiver with bluetooth, XM Radio for about $500 including an adapter I needed for the Bose amps/speakers, xm radio module, and an adapter to make the steering wheel buttons work. Couldn't be happier with it. --Jerry
