I took a 2 hour trip with my versa the other day,I noticed that when i got out my lower back was sore and stiff,I think the versa could use a lumbar in the center of the front seats, or maybe for just the driver.Any one else with this problem?

My 3+ hour road trip to the other side of the state was quite comfortable for myself and my 3 6-foot tall passengers (ok, one of them was only 5'10").

Though it could probably use a lumbar adjustment simply because not everyone is the same, and some people might want it.

I've taken many 4-6 hour trips in mine with no complaints. I do, however, ride with the seatback set so that I'm sitting nearly straight up, and with the head restraint about an inch behind the back of my head. I think posture plays a big role in back pain, whether sitting in a car or any other chair.

It bothered me a bit at first, but my back got used to it after a while.

Its funny because my passengers at the front complained about the same thing,And surely their back is different than mine,Maybe it will take some time to get my back molded to the front seat.

I just got back from my road trip last Sunday morning, drove from Cape Breton to Toronto in a single marathon drive (~2000km's / 20 hr drive).

The seats were pretty good I must say, even though I was pretty stiff at the end of it all.

There is a difference of seats in the S And the SL??

=(

I took a three hour drive the other day and I was quite comfortable. I drive an S, so I don't think it was bad. I guess I'll have to sit in an SL to see the difference.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think the only difference between the S and SL seats is the fabric they are covered with. I don't believe there is any difference in the foam padding or seat structure. The SL fabric looks a little "richer" but I doubt it plays a big part in long-trip comfort. I could be wrong, but that's the way I understand it.

The fabric is definately different and possibly the padding as well. I know my SL has the Memory Foam inside the seats. Ya' know the stuff they put in beds these days...

It's a little known fact as my salesperson didn't even know about it but I've confirmed it:

The drivers seat in the SL is also 6 way adjustable (not just 4 way), so it wouldn't surprise me if the seat was better overall.

SL driver's seat is only just height adj. Not that special. I didn't think there was any difference in seat design between them.

Like I said, the fabric cover is different. I forgot about the extra adjustment, but I still think that the internal construction is the same. I can't say for sure, as I've only ever sat in a SL like we have.

matt_a is correct. Seat construction is the same (both trims have memory foam). The SL has a better, more durable woven cloth, and a driver's seat height adjustment. Also, the SL has a fold-down armrest with two cupholders in the center of the rear seat, which the S does not have.

Correct ,I was told by many techs and the nissan online that both seats are identical sl/s other than the extra adjustment on the SL,Both have memory foam.

I think people are HIGHLY underestimating the comfort difference that Adjustable Seat Height can make, especially on a longer trip. My wife and I will NEVER AGAIN own a vehicle which does not offer seat height adustability due to the improved comfort levels we have both found in vehicles so equipped. Everybody's leg/torso proportions are different. Having the ability to adjust height as well as fore/aft positions can help the driver establish a proper relationship with the steering wheel/pedals/instrument cluster. The center armrest is an additional bonus of the SL and I may be mistaken but I think the SL also has better padding in the door armrests. Having said all that, an adjustable lumbar support would also help enhance driver comfort over the long haul as would a telescoping steering column and moving pedals.
