i have a 92 240sx fastback, and lately, for like the past 1-2 weeks i've been hearing this squeaking noise coming from the passenger front brake when i brake lightly, no sound when i hard brake (except when i come close to slow). It isn't a constant squeak, it sounds more like 2 rabbits goin at it on a squeaky bed. I had a mechanic look at the pads and he said that i still has a whole year of good braking left. I don't know what else could be wrong? Any suggestions? -Adrian

Further info that might help:-Theres no shakiness in the steering wheel when braking.-Lowered car with eibach springs and tokico struts-OEM brakes (i think?)-Calipers are painted.

oh yeah, and to describe the sound more: yeah it squeaks fast (2 squeaks/ sec @ 10-15 mph) then as i get slower (2-5 mph) the squeaks get slower too (1 squeak every 2 seconds). i just wanted to make sure you guys can visualize what i'm tryin to say. Thanks-Adrian

Brakes are just a chunk of hard pad material being forced against a piece of metal that is spinning really fast...that makes vibration, and vibration makes noise. They make glues and gels to smear on the back of the pad to dampen these vibrations and help quite noise
