Absolutely... but if you do of course, do not engage the 4x4 at any time and do not leave your 4x4 selection knob to auto. Leave it a 2wd.
** Super important** before you remove the driveshaft, put some marks (like with a paint pencil, or any other permanent way, on the driveshaft and the connector (where it bolts) On both sides... This way will ensure that once you put it back, you will reassemble both parts the way they were before you removed it.
