I just got my plates for my (well 3 mos. old to me by now but...) G35 and wondered about getting plates on the front. I only have had a quick glance but is there any easy way to get them on the front of the car if your state requires it (mine does )? It seemed like there is really no designated spot for the front plates.

P.S. It is the 05 model as well...

Thanks for the help and please don't me if it is a dumb question!

There is a bracket that adds the plate to the front of the car. It is drilled through the front and the plate mounts to that. You'll have to get one from Infiniti as I've never heard of an aftermarket one.

MOVE!!

Sorry, had to.

just lucky that NC doesn't require one.

If Infiniti doesn't have one, I probably do.

I live in CA where its supposed to be enforced but I've never gotten pulled over yet. My plan is to not have the front plates at least until I get a ticket for it... But if you really want to put it on, I'd suggest not drilling holes but getting the tow hook kit from Stillen.

I've been super lucky. I've only gotten one ticket for it...while it was parked in LAX and I was away in Hawaii on our honeymoon

I contested the ticket by mail saying that there were numerous drivers without front plates, that the car wasn't sold to my mom with plates, and she sold it to me without plates. They offered to drop it down to $10 or $15 if I fixed it.

So I did. I took the rear off and mounted it on the front. Took a photo. PSed it (to remove the stickers) then sent it in. And that was that

DO NOT DRILL YOUR BUMPER.

Stillen makes a bracket that needs no drilling. It is put on with the hole from the tow hook. so check it out herehttp://www.stillen.com/product...202DR

front plates = failure

Here in good ol' south carolina, we don't need front plates cuz as i remember cops usual run your tags when they are BEHIND you...

but i mean seeing as how you live in a place that needs front plates, just do like my friend in VA does... he just rests the plate on the dash on the passenger side of his G...

Cops don't mind it, its visible... so he's good to go...

haha front plates, what a joke...

I'll just tape it to the passenger side head rest in view facing forward-I know it wont matter to me since I'm never in the passenger seat.

*EDIT* This is a joke-just in-case!

You must be in greality - be ware driving through windsor as they have a short fuse for speeding - even worse than Greeley. I once got a ticket for 2 mph over. It used to be that there were 2-3 cool cops there (Greeley) that would sign off on fixits that the gestapo like cops loved to give. I remember back in the day (read mid 80s) we had one cop there that would hang out down on the cruise strip - 10th st in those days - and go out to the new housing developments before construction started and just after new roads went in - he would hang out and radar people across the line when they were racing - kept people from racing drunk, kept the fools from fighting over races and most of all kept "illegal" racing safe in a place that had no tracks all that close by.

that said - enjoy your G and avoid the local getapo mentality cops...

Have FUN

Hey Kirk, you should wonder over to one of the mustang threads and post up a pick of the 67 and 66 ranchero!!! Or, better yet, post up ALL of your rides!

Pretty close...I finished up at UNC last Spring and I no longer live in Greality! Back in Denver now working for 'the man.' The Westminster cops are not much better-I have some personal incidents with them (not even law related) that just raise WAY too many flags in my book.

I think a part of it in Greeley is also a lot of the college kids ruin things for the formerly cool cops. Too many of them just take advantage of the cops being cool and it ruins it for everyone. (Plus, I'm sure they have their hands full keeping those illegals in check these days too!) I have heard too many stories about the Gestapo though still having friends in Greeley. We can talk State Patrol though on Hwy 85 and I think the term Gestapo would also come up... :
