What do you guys prefer for your coupe? Some cities or states require a front plate though. I just got mine and the plates have not come in yet. The thing that sucks is that the car does not have the small square piece that you use when you don't have plates up in the front.

Also, if you go and buy the small piece for the front bumper, will they be already painted from the dealer or do you have to take that small piece and have it blended with the fromt bumper.

Hey,

I prefer no plates but not an option in most of Canada. So I use plates. I would say the holder comes in painted if you buy it thru Infiniti. Did you try other places everythingg35.com or ebay?

I'm with zozo, no plates. Don't need them in NC, but understand other states require them When I bought my daughter's G20, I actually had the holes filled in and the front bumper re-painted as part of the deal. For those other states, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Those plates just uuuuuuuuugly.

I never understood why is it ok not to have in 1 state and you must have in the other. What if you travel thru another state where it is required? It's ok.

Imagine if you have a car like Ferrari or Lambo and you have to put it on. I would probably cry when I put it on. I need a break......................................................... .Ok so that's BS.

I know I keep asking but nobody really knows why we need the second one.

I am pretty sure the reason that they (the cops) want front plates is for shooting laser because it is a easy surface to reflect off of. This is what I have heard but not for sure.

Anybody know the part number? And do they already come painted from the dealer? If so, then it might not be that bad of an idea. I just figured I had to buy it, then paint it, and have the bumper as well due to blending. I seriously do not want to drill holes and put those ugly things on there.

It is a state law in Texas that you have front plates. However, I have lived in Dallas for 8 years and I have not had plates on the front on either my Gcoupe that I have now or my J30 before that.

I think front plates are ugly and I have no intention of putting plates on the front. I haven't had them in 8 years and I have never been pulled over. If I get pulled over I will likely pay the ticket but I still will not put plates on the front.

Just my $0.02

in california its required that you have a front plate but so far i havent gotten pulled over for it. i've been driving without the front plate for about 3 months now, but the previous owner didnt have plates on it either (i have a 2003 G). and since im living in a good and safe city i dont think i would ever get pulled over, unless i do something stupid and piss off the cops. in irvine, i see a lot of cars without front plates so i just never bothered to put it on. i guess once i do, i'll put it on. but i've been warned to be careful in certain places, like airports, beaches, etc. cops there are dying to pull people over to hand out tickets.

Even if the state requires it, I would just pay the fine if pulled over. I hate front plates!

I just got the plates from the shop. I refused for them to put them on the front. Also, I looked up the license plate cover and it is only $13.81. I wonder if it comes painted though.

The front cover does not come in the color of the car. It is a black cover.

Stillen makes a kit that attaches the plate to the tow bolt in the front.

Oregon says "gotta have 'em".

Got pulled over years ago in my 911 w/ an aftermarket front end. It had the outline for the euro plates but no place the mount the standard US plates. I wrote the check and tossed it into the mail along with a letter stating that cars like mine, vettes (at that time), and other vehicles don't have a spot to even mount the plates.

Was at least hoping for a "reduced sentence" (i.e. partial refund) which they do here in Oregon. I never did see a dime back.

Thought it was total BS when I had to drill holes in the front of my 911 to mount the stupid-*** plate.
