So here's the thing. Last night I was talking to my GF on her couch at around 6:15-6:30, talking about cops, here is a brief overview: ME:'Yeah I don't have my front licence plate mounted' GF:'That isn't a problem is it? I see it all the time' ME: 'actually it is illegal, I've gotten ticketed for it before' ME:'traffic cops out here aren't as strict as they are in Mn, I haven't even got a ticket yet' GF:'damn dude! you better knock on some wood' Steve foolishly knocks on marble and then tries to knock on wood instead.

At the exact instant Steve knocks on marble, the meter maid outside hears the cold thunk of a non-wood knock (exactly 6:19pm), and writes Steve a $100 ticket for not having a front licence plate. DIZAAAMMMN! Luckily for Steve this ticket is correctable, and the fine will be waved after proof of licence mounting is shown.

I went to the sleepy surfer town of Pacifica to purchace some socket head (stainless) bolts for my plates. Go to put the front plate on, and the bolt pattern in front is too wide! Ahh that's why there wasn't a plate on there. What the Hell?! Why would nissan make the bolt pattern wider in the front than in the back?Dizamn:spam

if you have a s13, then that is what theyre for, the black plastic holder, then the holder has screws that match for the license plate

Well, mine was hole-free when I got it. PA cars don't have front plates. Then NJDMV forced me to drill two painful holes in the bumper. I was not happy at all.

Move to AZ. No front plates :D.

No rust, no snow shovels, no tire chains, no jackets, no raincoats, no pasty white skin, etc, etc, etc.

No water either. I'd move to AZ, but I don't really wanna live in the middle of the desert.

Or you could do just like I do, put a black front bumper on a white car and tell the cop when he pulls you over for no front plate that "I just got in a accident and the front plate was crushed and I am waiting on a new one" (see avitar for details)

Works every time :D

Actually, AZ has the highest boat ownership per capita of ANY state in the US (believe it.... or not).

Several lakes and the Colorado River. PWC's (personal watercraft) are big business here since you have 9 months of good watersport weather.

Radian - How about 2 big chunks of Velcro? Then you could remove the plate for show...

Or you could just go to the dealer (or a junkyard) and get a front plate holder - It'd look cleaner.

Some places came with holes for the plates drilled, some didn't. Like I went to a dealership and these guys from FL came in with a brand new Passat to have the holes drilled because they don't use front plates down there (I think it was FL.) And AZ, speaking of PWCs, do you Jet-ski? I do...that is when the horrible weather around here calms down.

Dude, no offense, but you're confused.

The hottest place I've EVER been is Ft Worth in July.

It was 104 here yesterday, but with single-digit humidity, you don't really even sweat. I drove home with the windows down, in fact. It's actually quite bearable.

p.s. I hate ASU, but it gets voted #1 party school year after year....

Nah, I prefer boats. But I'd get out and enjoy some jetski action if I had one available...:D

SHOW HAHAHAHAHAHA"Dude, the expert velcro system on your front plate totally makes your bone stock (except rims and a sun roof) look like a million bucks."Velcro. I actually used to work at 3M and got tons of it free, I velcroed a lighter within reach of every seat in my house.Tooth brush velcroed to wall, along with the comb (be sure to use the fuzzy side or it'll grab your hair)

my car is originally from texas, but it's been in california since '99. does texas not require front plates?guess california dmv didn't make the owner drill holes when it got here.

so how does it work? car manufacturers don't drill holes, and if your state requires it, the dealer drills the holes or someting? doesn't seem very economical for the manufacturer to build some bumpers with holes and some without

I got a ticket for my plate. All I had to do is send in a picture with it in place and $9. Then, after I took the picture I took the plate back off.

I asked some other people about the pictue idea, I guess in Ca you can have any cop sign the back of the ticket, then send in the $10 admin fee. Most of the time the signing cop dosn't even look to see if it is fixed or not.Bastards

$10 to keep from drilling holes in your bumper is a good deal.
