Maybe the answer to this is so simple, it's stupid. OK, look at my post total. So i go to lower my front end just a bit from factory coilover setting, maybe 1/4". Driver side, no problem. Passenger side, turn, turn, turn till the spring is loose, still 1.5" gap. Bounce on it, still nothing.

What kind of coilover do you have?

im guessing he has sleeve type coilovers since hes using the bottom spring mount to lower it. if he had proper coilovers, he shouldnt be adjusting ride height from the lower perch(informing the OP)maybe you didnt spin it enough? maybe you were spinning the whole sleeve? we need more details.

Coilovers are legit-HKS Hypermax on S-13 w/no accident damage I know of. Only other thing-when I removed strut from pass. side, it was under a ton of pressure. Had to hammer out spindle bolts and it came flying out. Maybe I bent something, but driveability is good. Thanks anyway.

Show us a picture of the coilovers, you should lower the car by adjusting the spindle mount.... NOT by adjusting the spring perch or preload.

hm..same deal for me.

i have footwerks coilovers..based from australia and being sold here in GA by a dealer..

the fronts have 10kgmm springs on em and i maxed out the limit for the mounting part to sit on the perches for max drop.i even took a perch out and placed it in the bottom..still not enuogh drop.

i really dont want to add preload to the coilover since i dont want my coilovers to pop since they're on my daily.

anyhow.. does 10kgmm springs affect a drop THAT much?my 6kgmm rears are doing just fine on dropping.. i can tuck and tuck, but for the fronts, i still get a finger or so of gap

maybe get softer springs?

Convert your Kg to in/lbs and give summit a call. QA-1 makes really good springs. All you need is to tell them is your ID (inner diameter) of the springs you run now. Say for example your spring rates are 10kg/mm and the springs are 12in long. You can buy springs that are 10kg/mm and get them in a 10in or 8in length so you can lower more.

Do you have any pics of how low your car is now. It's weird that you can't get the drop you want on coilovers.

I may be mistaken, but coilovers do have limits as to how far they can go up or down? My Teins are good for 3" or so of drop, and I cant think of too many that go more than 4". Just out of curiosity, what size tires are you running?

just frustrating to see a gap different from the front and back nomatter what i do.

i dont want to reduce the shock travel to lower it

next in line is a softer spring i suppse.

one thing about the struts not coming off as you mentioned could be that it just bound.did you use a jack to lift the LCA while you were taking the coilovers off?you should always support the LCA+spindle assembly with a jack while you take the coilovers off the car.take the springs off and check your strut/damper travel.

compress it and let it come up, see how it does.

if its blown, it'll either come up REAL slow or just stop half way.

Excuse my crude drawing but if you notice in the red cirlce area that it represents how much mount adjustment you have to lower your car. With a shorter spring of the same load rating you can give yourself more room to adjust. I am referring to coilovers though not sleeves that are purchased off ebay ect.

NOOOOOO...... not softer springs, shorter springs. You can get a spring that is rated at the same kg/mm but in a shorter length.
