front passanger airbag

Somone told me that the passanger front airbag can be turned off on the Murano. Is this true? I was under the impression that only pick up trucks with only one seat had the capactiy to turn off pass. frt a/b. and on these vehicles it had to done each time the key is cycled. This will settle an argument with a friend and its worth a beer to me ! Many thanks for the info.
