I was wondering which direction to install the new oil seal. Im replacing mine and forgot which is the dust lip and which is the oil lip. So is the part that goes in with a metal spring ring that goes into the engine or vice versa?

Put it in the way it came out, it only goes on "correct" one way. It looks/feels wierd the opposite way.

The highest lip and the one sloping UPWARDS goes toward the Crankshaft pulley, the lip thats LOWEST and facing downward goes to the Engines inside towards the crankshaft.

The Side with the Ringed Lip goes to the engine crankshft side.

I figured it out since I knew that it be retarded to tap in with the spring ring facing out since it would become messed up. Thanks and hope this will help others in the long run. Now for the rear main seal lol.
