What is the sensor on the front motor mount for on the maxima? I have read that several other Nissans have this too. While doing a timing chain job I removed it and did not see it plugged into anything. I currently am having problems with the engine running rough and rich. Am currently looking into MAF plug breakage, IAC Valve and the ever popular harness breakage at right strut tower. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other members have disconnected that plug w/o any adverse effect. Was the engine running rough and rich even before the timing chain servicing? Have a free scan from Autzone and the likes to find out if you have any trouble code then report back. You can check the entire air intake - replace air filter as required, clean MAF sensor and Throttle Body/Plate and IACV. Some procedures are available from the FAQ 'sticky,'

Thanks. Yes, this was running rough before the chain job. New MAF, cleaned TB and IACV. Not driving it now but will go to Autozone for a scan soon. Cleaned every inch of intake and EGR system when it was apart. Even replaced all EGR components including tubes. Will get back when I get the scan.

That's a major job you've done yet problem still exist. Do a 'click test' of the injectors with engine running (using mechanic's stethoscope or improvise with a long screw driver) as well as a 'spark test.' With engine off, check injector resistance - 10 to 14 ohms.

Thanks for your input. I will try this and post more about my findings. Might be awhile though as my work schedule is very busy.

I'm glad you are not driving the car when it is running rich as it can cause the catalytic converters and O2 sensors to fail prematurely. BTW, there must be a reason why the engine mount electrical connector has been disconnected, especially if you are not the original owner of the car. A short in the electronic engine mount can kill an ECU.

Yes and the CAT is new too along with 3 O2 sensors. I could not even find the other end of plug when I was working on it. If its no big deal than I guess I will leave it alone and not worry about it.
