I have noticed a couple drops of oil left on ground each morning for the last 3-4 days- took to the local gas station and had them put it on lift and remove undershield- oil is coming from around the crankshaft pully. I am assuming this is a faulty front main seal issue? Any thing else in that area that would cause the oil leaks?

What is involved in repairing the leak? How much disassembly? How much should it cost to repair? Must a specialist complete this, or is it easy enough for a local quality independant shop to handle?

270 Ft. lb. of torque on crank nut, so check their 3/4" torque wrenches!

I noticed a lot of grunge on the front of the passenger side of the block, so my eyes will be open also as I have cleaned it.

No one knows how much labor involved? Average prices? Looks like I am the first q owner with a leaky front seal?

Doesn't look hard to do on page EM-23 and EM-24 of the 1994 Q45 FSM.

Hardest part is removing the crank pulley

Yes, without damaging it. It is also the harmonic balancer, I believe.

I'd plan on at least a weekend. Need to remove belts/hoses radiator. Harder on 1996 than 1990 due to extra transmission cooler/hoses. Need impact wrench to remove or a least someway to keep pulley from turning. Wouldn't trust local grease monkey with anything that could cause loss of oil pressure. A specialist might be able to do it without removing the radiator.

Or you could install a bigger diaper to catch oil in belly pan.
