Looks like I need to replace my front right lower control, the bushings are making a clunking noise. Since I have to replace one arm I should replace the front left.

Excuse the ignorace. The question I have is do i need to do alignment when I am done with this procedure. I took a look the other day doesn't seem the bolts i am going remove have any adjustment.

You technically shouldn't need an alignment after that, however if you had an alignment since the arms were worn, it may throw it off.

Personally, I go overkill on alignments. A $60-$100 alignment is a heck of a lot better than frying a $1000 set of tires (which I've done).

I've changed out the front control arms about three times already before I found the split poly bushings. In each case the alignment was off a bit after getting everything back together.

I think this weekend I am going to have time to replace both of my front lower control arms and ball joints. I looks like it is not that hard, probably the hardest part is going to be remove the ball joint front the steering knuckle...

The other day I also noticed a bit of play in the front right tire, if I apply pressure on the tire at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position there is no play, if I apply pressure on the tire at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position there is a bit of play - I know this is not normal. I looked around and didn't see anything lose, until I started suspecting about the front hub bearings. I removed the wheel hub cap, checked the bearing for pressure and notice it was a little tight but I still had a bit of play so i decided to tighten the bearing a bit more, the wiggle on the tire went away but I am still hearing a bit of clunking noise coming from that side of the suspension so I am going to replace both front bearings (inner and outer) and see if the noise goes away when going over bumps.

It's not a hard job at all. If your were just doing the control arm, you could probably cruise through it in an hour and a half or so.

The inner bearings are no small job!

Is it that hard to replace the inner bearings?

What should I expect when replacing the inner bearings?
