just got a ticket for not having the front plate on my beater (91 celica). the day i got the car i was runnign late for work and found bolts but they only fit in the back. so i jsut never got around to puttin the front on. Would be be possible if i put it on and showed the court or municipal building that it is fixed so i wouldnt have to pay the ticket? its only $44 but if i can get out of it that would be great.

Well, it's not a moving violation, so it should not affect your insurance premiums. IMHO, you should weigh the cost of the fine with the effort and time involved in going to court to try to get out if it. Is $44 is really enough money to warrant losing a day of work (or school) to go to court and try to sneak out of ticket that doesn't affect your driving record?I can't answer that for you, but in my case, I'd mail in the $44 and move on. Good luck.

In California, you just put on the plate, get an officer to write your ticket off, stating that you have your plate on, and the ticket is waived. Costs $10 to waive it though.

well, municipal court is usually at night, so you probly won't miss anything...if you take a pic, talk to the local prosecutor and explain why you didn't have it on,(make up a better story!) then they will probly drop the ticket. Worst case scenario is that you waste an evening and you haev to pay the ticket plus the court fees(20-30 dollars)

so that photo radar on I-95 can get you silly! just throw it up in the window where your windsheild will screw up the resolution, that's what I do.
