the enclosure for the front license plate isn't installed on my 2015 rogue. I have the piece, but it seems I need to drill two holes onto the front bumper. Has anyone done it? How hard was it?

Thanks

I think it should be done by the dealer

Did the dealer charge for this?

It's not hard to do. You don't need a drill, although an electric screwdriver would make it easier. Only takes a few minutes to do. If you don't feel like doing it yourself, the dealership should do it as courtesy (free).

Thanks for the reply.

I am trying to install the license plates based on the instructions in the user manual. The manual says, it comes with 2 grommets, 2 j nuts and 2 screws. But the hardware pack attached to the bracket that came with the car, only has 2 screws and 2 j nuts. Basically, it seems I am missing some parts.

What came with the bracket in your case?

The kit should look about like this. Last time I installed one was over 7 months ago. I live in DE and never needed them on my Rogue's (state only issues a rear tag), but I installed a couple when I worked at the dealership. As I recall, the two screws that are used to attach the holder to the bumper are the sheet metal type. There's a set of metal clips that slip over the tabs that a second set of screws go through to attach the plate to the holder.

It wasn't uncommon to have a car shipped to the dealership without the front tag kit. We'd pull a kit from one of the lot cars, and either the salesman or one of the guys in the shop would install the holder, free of charge.
