I was planning to take out the front license plate to my Versa, but since it's mandatory in California, I figured, the heck with it. I don't want to get a fix-it ticket just for that.

So I was planning to "offset" the license plate to a side. Has anyone done that before? If you have, could you give me suggestions on how to do so?

Thanks a lot.

You know you will have holes in your bumper when you remove the plate holder dont you?You will have to have the holes filled and the bumper re painted.

I just left mine in the middle and bought a simple black frame with the plastic cover over it. Doesn't look TOO bad, prevents the plate from getting dented or chipped and it's easy to clean the bugs off it. If the plastic ever gets cracked by a rock I can always replace the plastic for 5 or 6 dollars. The plate will still look o.k.

When my wife comes home I'll take a picture of it. I'll post a picture of the rear bumper guard, too, since West Covina Nissan put it on the car Friday for me.

Thats an easy one bro.. just get the license plate bolt plugs from your honda dealership they fit the dealership drilled holes and paint to match then just pick up a license plate relocator they are all about the same but some cost a little as $20 some over $50 I do that with all the cars I had.

I usually don't let the dealership drill my bumper but the V was already on the lot, and if your concerned about the plate getting dirty they sell covers to keep it clean or dent free

Ebay type,

A little part of me cries every time I PDI a car at work and have to drill into the bumper for the bracket. The only car we don't put a front bracket on are the Z's (for obvious reasons). When I bought my car, we had to dealer trade it from some Nissan dealer in Wisconsin. I REALLY wish they hadn't drilled the bracket OR did door mouldings; HOWEVER, it was the ONLY 2.0S 6-speed with the RF package in the neighboring 6 states around me.

Ah this looks perfect. Any pictures on how much of an offset it will actually be? And could I get the name of this type of bracket, can't seem to find it for sale anywhere.

When you install it you determine the offset based on the location you choose but it will locate where your lower grill is here a pic of one on a civ...It's a pretty straight forward install with two screws to hold the license plate relocator and two for the license plate they sell them on ebay local speed shops or online shops like http://www.passwordjdm.com/pro...=1808

Versaspeed should add this to their inventory

Hmm.. do they specifically make the relocator for the Versa? I only see them for specific models. Anyways, it's a bit too expensive for something like that, I tried to find it on eBay, but they don't seem to have any.

Thanks for the help though, I'll just wait when they start making it for the V.

Hey lain, I noticed your signature and I actually found a license plate relocator from that site, pretty cheap too. They don't give you much of a choice but to put it on the passenger side. Here's the link: http://www.247motoring.com/sho...pt107

They have a ton of cheap ones on ebay if that what your looking for just type "license plate relocator" in the search field and you will see almost three pages of them..

I have this universal relocator on my 08' xB,

here is the jdm driver side styled one,

last usdm style passenger side styled one,

How come none of the ones on eBay are for the V? I only see them for specific models like the Civic, etc. I couldn't even find a universal, and how would it exactly fit on the Versa bumper? Drill more holes?

you could also use the Stillen Plate Bracket, it uses the stock tow hook mounting point, so it would be on the front bumper (not grill) and offset to the drivers side, Just look for that little square "door" on the front bumper. You should have a tow hook in the back with your spare tire.

All the license plate relocators I showed you are for universal use and fit almost any car you don't need a "versa only one" the one that scott is talking about is a nice one as well it has a nice back plate and uses the tow stud hole.. I like that one to Scott.. just it's a little pricey starts at $63 and it can be easily removed since it screws in...nice for a show car though..

You mount the ones pictured easily using two screws, and yes you do have to drill them into place but it is a cleaner look... to fix the holes that were drilled at the dealership into your car is a simple one, I stated it before just go to the honda parts dept. and pick up the hole (caps)covers that they use on the late 90's civics they go for about $3 and will mount in the bumper holes flush almost... or you can take some fiberglass fill material for a even smoother look and a little touch up paint and your done..

Oh yeah here a pic of the one Scott was talking about they made it for the G35 and 350Z they come in different bolt sizes 16mm,22mm and 24mm and need to be measured for proper length & bumper clearance
