My 93 came from Arizona and doesn't have any mounting holes or bracket for the front license plate. Wife was pulled over and ticketed for it twice (don't the cops have anything better to do?) I've been thinking about drilling holes in the front bumper to do this, any suggestions would be appreciated, I don't want to do this if there is a better way.

thanks

Put the plate on the front dash.d

If they pull you over tell em you dont have mounting hardware, but you ordered it and are waiting for it. They wont do much.

On the dash will get you the same ticket out here, plus there's the guillotine fun in a decent crash.Factory mounts the front plate holder by running big gnarly sheet metal screws straight through the bumper. You might look into hiding it in the intake "mouth" using some strap aluminum to whatever you might find in there. It will not take up enough space to compromise engine cooling.

good idea, thanks. The thought of the gulliotine effect is chilling! Are you sure it won't restrict the airflow?

all J30 front bumpers have the two dimples where you need to punch out the holes where the nuts are behind buried in the bumper...just find another J30 with front license plate holder and you will see where they are.If you cant find another J30...take a license plate or license plate holder which you can get from a junkyard, as it's not worth to pay retail for, and look where the holes in the license plate are...you will see dimples in the bumper...just have to look closely
