Correct, in Utah we are not required to display plates on the front, only on the rear. Our other vehicle is a 2007 Honda Odyssey (you can stop laughing now) and the front plate mount is attached under the bumper for easy removal with no visible aftermath.generic808 wrote:Pretty much most cars will have the license plate screw holes on the front bumper. Is it legal in your state to run with no plates? I wish we didn't need them here in Hawaii.
I made certain this crap wasn't attached to my vehicle before I got it, and I'm really happy I did! My last maxima 04 had this bolted on so we couldn't remove it or everyone would see the huge holes behind. lolseekinsp wrote:Why did Nissan mount the front license plate holder right onto the bumper on the A/C???? They could have installed this via a bracket that was attached in a much more inconspicuous position. I have seen pictures of owners that have removed the bracket, only to be left with 2 very obvious screw holes where the original was attached. I think that the A/C looks better with this removed, but not at the sacrifice of looking like a hack job.
Just my 2 cents. This may have already been voiced in another thread, couldn't find anything.
Yeah, wish I had that luxury. These are hard to come by so I had to take what I could get. Interesting to know that they do not come with the plate holder mounted though.mcheddadi wrote:

Actually, we are required to have front plates here in Utah. They just won't give you a ticket unless you get pulled over for something else. I haven't had a front plate, or bracket, on my Coupe or my previous car (350z) and I've been lucky enough to only get 1 ticket for not having a front plate. It cost me $50, but that's better than getting a "fix-it" ticket and be forced to vandalize your own car by drilling holes in it.seekinsp wrote:

$25 for a pair of those bad boys!? I can understand the thought that went into them but damn. You can make your own for really cheap.johnd635 wrote:You can remove the bracket and patch the holes with bumperplugs; they are made specifically for this purpose: http://www.bumperplugs.com
Or if you don't want to spend the money on them, you can try making your own.
Hmmmmm....interesting. I have never had front plates and never been ticketed for it (even though I've been pulled a few times for other offenses). Maybe it's because I have Firefighter plates. Anyhow, must be like the Utah motorcycle helmet law....illegal not to wear one, but the cops don't give a damn (unless you get one that is a real stickler for the law).sandman350 wrote:
