When I bought my g35, i completely did not notice the fact that it did NOT have a license plate in the front bumper. Rather than drive 65 miles each way back to the dealership, i decided to mount my own using plastic ties and frames bought at Autozone.

my question is, will this in any way affect the car? am i impeding the airflow to the radiator and the engine? if so, I can drive to the dealership... its just a real pain in the a$$ though.

Yes, would block some air to the radiator. I probably wouldn't do it, but it may not hurt anything. If you are doing that, put it on one side or the other and not in the middle.

Wow...that is a good clean look though. Good job on the aesthetics aspect.

Of course it will block some air. The question is whether it will block too much. If you want to give it a try, keep your temporary setup and keep a close eye on the temperature gauge. If you can get through the hottest part of the summer without overheating, you should be good indefinitely.

Went to the dealer, they are charging me 100 bucks to install a plate mount... Am I getting screwed here or is this normal???

The car also needed a new compressor... It only has 23k on it. I complained that it was making a sound that I didn't know if it was normal or not for infinitis, and this is what they said needed to be done. I still have warranty so I didn't care, but kinda disturbed by the fact that a 2 year old car needs a new compressor already. Anyone have any problems with theirs so soon?

I had to have the front plate installed on my G37 because it is required in my state. The dealer did it free in a few minutes. Did you have the mount and hardware or did the dealer have to provide it?

Yes, you are getting screwed....$100 for putting on a plate?
I would leave it as is and keep an eye on the temp. gauge.
Now that it's cooling off, it should not be a problem.
If you need a front plate, I'm sure somebody here would send you their bracket!
I think I may have one in my building...somewhere.

My AC compressor went south last summer at around 50K miles on my 04 coupe.

Eh.... I wish I saw this before I decided to do it. The mount was 80 bucks, labor 20. If I went to the dealer I bought it from it would have been free, but I didn't want to go 3 hours out of my way and save a 100 :( thanks for the offer though.

They also discovered that by the switches on the dashboard, it was opening up.. So they ordered a whole new dash. Didn't really expect an infiniti to have these kinda silly quality issues though.

The car sort of felt sluggish omw home... I don't know if they reset the ecu or pulled the battery while performing a multi point test, or it could have just been me and purely psychological.

Either way, so far I have been happy with the car. Read somewhere online that CPO doesn't mean much and that sometimes dealerships sell cars that have been involved in an accident, and that made me a little paranoid, but it the car seems legit so hopefully all is ok.
