A friend of a friend asked me if I could replace the front spindles on his '93 Z32 NA. I normally wrench on MK3 Supras and SW20 MR2's, and I've never needed to replace an entire hub assembly like that.

I was curious as to why someone would need to replace the front spindles, I'm not sure that the owner of this Z32 knows a whole lot about cars.

I was also curious about how involved it is. I don't have access to an alignment rack or a hydraulic press if I need to install ball joints. I fear that I will need both. Anyone done this before?

Thanks in advance, and yes, I tried searching.

As far as needing to replace the steering knuckles themselves there should be no need for that unless they are damaged. The hub assemblies themselves hold the bearing, which might be what he was talking about.
