I have a 97 pathfinder that I recently purchased. I have never had one of these so im new to them. It has a slight rear end wobble so I am having the rear control arms and bushings replaced. What im wondering is this....it drives nice and straight on dry roads but once im on snow in 4wd the front end feels very loose and wants to unexpectedly snap left or right. Could this be from the rear end or is there a 4wd problem? There aren't any weird noises or anything...just scares the heck out of me to drive it in the snow. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Do you have stock tires?

not sure what stock tire size is but it has 31" firestone destination radials on it now.

Maybe read through this: http://www.faqs.org/car/nissan-pathfind ... uspension/ Would also explain the grinding some people hear in 4x4...yours may not have been taken to the dealer when it was recalled. Just a thought. very interesting reading though. Click on the "recall" link. I'm a first time Pathfinder owner also, so i didn't know this either.
