I'm taking the front end off my 89 240xs to sand down the fenders, repair the rust and then paint them.

I have all the top bolts off the fenders, and the one thats in the door jam, and then also the one thats under the car.

What other ones are there for the fenders and how many for the front fascia/bumper cover? Do the fenders and front bumper cover come off connected and then have to be unbolted once off?

thanks,

lbrowne

ive had to remove one before due to running into a lawn trailor. you are right about the bolts so far, but there is on more at the front of the fender that connects right next to the pop up lights. you need to remove the under cover directly under the little black air vents, and reach in there and take off that bolt. after that it should just come right out.

you mean the cosmetic air vents? (lil black inserts that aren't really vents) :) i have those off, but I'll look for this bolt thats near the pop up lights. should I look under the hood or from under the car?

thanks,

the bracket is about 6 inches long and is connected to the very front of the fender. from the looks it looks as if you might have ripped it off, but you want to look from under the car to see the bolt. but dont sweat if you dont see it at first, because it took me a while to find it myself. im at work right now but when i get home i can take a few pics of it for you so you can have a visual.
