Hello, I just signed up this forum. I have a 04 Quest SL. It's been sitting in my drive way for the last several years due to what else, but, timing chain. I finally decided to replace the engine due to, 1. Loss of Power, 2. 150,000+ miles within the first 6 years, 3. Just before I put the van on drive way, I may have heard metal-hitting-metal noise from the engine, speculating cylinder head hitting valves, and, lastly, 4. Noise from the front cover. Upon removal of the engine and opened the front cover, I saw; 1. Chain hitting the front cover, 2. Chain guide slid down, 3. Completely extended chain tensioner, 4. Jumped (2 to 3 teeth) timing chain. I took the van to the mechanic and I ordered used engine w/ 80,000 miles from LKQ online. Question. Am I able to install after-market front engine mount? This mount has a sensor. I was told if I use non-OEM engine mount (Beck Arnley), it will trigger CEL (Check Engine Light) to come on. Is this true? I also found out that others (DEA) make mount without sensor/wire. Will it work if I remove sensor/wire from mine and put it on this mount w/o sensor/wire? There is only $20 difference between Beck and DEA at Autoparts Warehouse. If Beck works fine, I don't mind paying $20 more. Does anybody know if I can reset ECM to erase CEL when I install Beck mount? If someone teaches me how to reset the ECM, I would very much appreciate it. I know OEM is the best, but, $160 to $200 is bit too much at this time. Thanx,
