I have had my wheels balenced 2 times, BTW they are not factory they are 20 " after market. they vibratin has gone down some but is still there. I noticed that one of my cv boots are bad so i am gonna replace the drive axles on both sides.

Here is the real question , I noticed this morning while exiting the freeway , my car shimmes around 40 mph when i turn the wheel hard like on a off ramp the shimming goes away. do you think its a tie rod or ball joint ?

How are your tires wearing?Have you jacked up the front to check & see if there is play in the wheel?

My son's gf's 2000 I30 w/100k miles was taken in to Nissan for a half shaft due to a blown boot. While they were looking it over, they noticed the wheel bearing had trashed the hub on the other side and the end of the shaft. Had to have it all replaced. It had been eating tires, but they were told by a tire store that the car had 'frame damage' due to a wreck a year ago and told them to take it to a frame shop.....

Anyway, Nissan found the real problem- and no frame damage from the wreck.

However, if your boot is ripped & joint is bad, then that's the place I would start.
