Hi guys
Question, do you know of a good aftermatket brand for fromt struts? OEM Is 1800$ for 2 front strut assemblies (including mounts and bushings)
Also does it make a big difference when replacing the front strut or the ride stays bumpy ? Thanks

Try KYB, since you have an X, I'm not sure if they make a compatible version...but I swear by them.

I know they don't make a direct fit for the M35x, but we share the same front strut as either the g37x or G35x (which KYB has a model for) - you'll have to do some investigating there.

I have an '06 M35X and, like you, didn't want to pay the exhorbinant Infiniti strut prices, so I took a shot on the KYB's, and they have been great for the last 18 months.

These are the ones that I went with...Good luck!

Thanks. And by the way what made you replace them? The reason i am asking is i am debating weather to replace mine or not.
My ride is rough on the bumps, but i dont know if new shocks will make it smoother or i have another issue with my front end suspension?
Have you noticed a significant ride quality change after putting the new struts?
Mo.

Did not notice a huge difference between the originals and the KYB's, to be honest.

I ended up changing the struts at ~135,000 miles because I had a "clunk" in the front when going over bumps. I did the usual end link, stabilizer bushing replacement, and it was still there, so I figured it was about time to change the struts, anyway, so went with the KYB's.

Long story, short...It wasn't the struts...I had used aftermarket end links, and they still clunked...I swapped those with the OEM's, and the sound went away...I guess the new front struts are just upside, now.

question for ae7456t or any other M35x owner who used KYB front struts

did you use the part numbers listed here by ae7456t or you went with something different? Also where did you get your part from? Thanks

Well. It tured out that the clunking sound was caused by the passenger side control arm. It was completely broken and all of its oil was leaked.
I replaced it with OEM part and the car is butter smooth.
As for the struts, they are hard to fail in those cars according to my mechanic but if they fail, you will feel them bouncing and car will ne unstable while braking or turning.
I did not have to replace mine yet but probably will do in the future.
I recommend OEM parts only

@cruzad3r...I did use the KYB struts that I listed...I installed them almost exactly 2 years ago (~40,000 miles ago), and they still feel great...Would definitely use them again, if I had to.

I got them from Amazon...Looks like they are about $83/strut.

Good luck!

great! thanks for the info man. i will pay for prime so i can get them within 2- days.

I used OEM parts the last time i replaced the front. but it's time to replace them again due to my fault so KYB here i come. I swapped my rear with KYB and didn't feel much different compare to the OEM. however my wallet was much happier with KYB instead of the OEM though :D

So i have kyb all around and it has been weeks yet I'm getting these squeaky/squeaking noise. i'm getting this noise whether i drive or station. the noise is evidence when i push on the struts from my fenders or when the car is going over uneven road/bumps/pot holes.

i did not replace the bump rubber stop. any one has/had this issue and how did you fix it? All ideas are welcome. thanks

Are you sure it's the struts? Does it happen in the rear too? If it's just in the front, could be control arms, steering linkage, or some other part that has worn out.
