So I have had issues with my front brakes shaking under heavy braking. I presume its that.... the rooters must be thinned and the brake pads themselves are wearing down.

This has happened before, and was corrected last time I had a full front end brake job. What exactly causes this? Will turning the rotors help, or hurt the situation.

PS Only happens when strong braking from like 90-100 back to 65 (ie when passing!)

I presume new pads won't help? Or turned rotors? Just new rotors and pads??

Rotors... switch to some drilled rotors or both drilled/sloted. The stock rotors can't handle any real aggressive driving. The stock pads are actually pretty good.

Agree with Kmckis....aftermarket rotors will help. The shaking is probably because the OEM rotors are warped.

I didn't think that the oem bads were all ceramic.....causing too much heat for the OEM setup.
My g35X has warped rotors, but the pads are fine. Shakes under hard braking.
Doesn't bother me or my wife, so going to wait a bit longer before putting on new rotors and ceramic pads (Akebono pro-act). Told all ceramic will generate less heat.
But, we don't track ours......so, yeah, if you are aggressive then follow their advice above.

Some people have a bad time with the factory rotors constantly warping. It's all about how you drive. Personally I'd suggest replacing them with StopTech slotted or Brembo blanks.

I used to have problems with warped rotors all the time until I learned not to drive through puddles after runs with hard braking. Hot rotors and cold water guarantees warp.

Avoiding it does not guarantee no warp, but I have not had the issue in years.

I'm running StopTech PowerSlots on both of my cars and are very happy with them. if interested in pricing I suggest shooting Mike (RED_DET on this forum) a email for pricing at http://www.tunerzstore.com

I usually change them all. Right now I have only changed the fronts on the sedan and the rear is warped again. If I keep the car much longer I'll replace the rear with StopTech.
