I have an 02 pathy with a manual transmission. It intermittently makes a clunking/popping noise when I accelerate and gear down. Seems to only happen when it's warm, "warm" being +5 or more Celsius. I changed the front sway bar bushings but it's not them. I'm thinking it might be a motor mount. Seems to happen regardless of road condition/bumps, but it's hard to say for sure. Has anyone else had a bad motor mount? Did you have similar noises? Thanks.

I think I MAY have found the problem, my transmission mounting bolt is loose, and it's rusted and doesn't want to tighten.
