front end noise

Ok guys, something's bugging me and I can't figure it out - Noticed an offset thump that seems to be in time with tire rotation..starts in at about 20 mph and gets louder and harder sounding up to 50 mph. Haven't taken it over 50 yet cause I was off the highway by the time I heard it. No steering wheel vibration, and you can kinda feel it through the gas pedal, but no real vibration through the car. Definately not shaking, if you have the stereo on loud enough, you don't know it's there. Also, from it wailing away at 45 mph, get on the brakes and it goes away. I feel like I should know this off the top of my head, but it's not co-operating with me. No noticable slop in the tie rods, but I'll get the whole thing up in the air tomorrow and see what wobbles and what doesn't. Any ideas? BTW, Nico's search sucks. There should be an option to search only in the pathfinder/qx4 forum without including that into the search every time..I kept getting excited thinking I found an answer, only to be on the damn Altima part.. check your lug nuts. it could be the wheel loosening itself.

On the nuts, man..I couldn't imagine that was it, since I rotated the tires less than 1k miles ago and torqued them all to the same rate. And all 3 others were good to go, but the driver's front were all finger-loose. Wierd. Thanks for the tip, I was about to tear into the front end.
