I recently bought an 07 M35 with 30K, It has a noticeable sound coming from the front end, not sure if it is driver's side or passenger side, It is an dull, oscillating sound and it becomes noticeable about 25MPH, and seems to go away after about 40MPH. It also doesn't seem to be as bad after I have been driving the car around for a little while. The noise is the same whether braking or coasting, accel. or decel. Also the noise doesn't change in turns. Anyone else heard of anything like this, the tires appear to be new, so I don't think it is a worn tire. Any ideas?? Thanks!

can you feel the "oscillation"? Might be as as simple as tires out of balance?

Could also be bad tires (low load index?) that have failed internal belts.

Regardless of which, I agree ... I would try a rebalance first.

I was thinking about this too.... I do "feel" the noise as well, I know the car had some rim work done on it before I bought it... Maybe they knocked a weight off.... But wouldn't it get worse the faster I went if it was an off balance tire?

The nice thing about a rebalance is it is a realatively easy and inexpensive thing to try first.

This is an 09 with 30,000 miles? Might a visit to the dealer and a ride with a service tech be in order, in case this is a warranty (or warrantyable) issue?

Hi there and Welcome to NICO!

I agree with the previous posters here, it could very well be a tire that is out of balance. More than likely you would still feel it above 45mph. You may have a wheel bearing that is starting to fail. I would definitely recommend taking it to the dealer.

Oh and just something to pass along to them see if the noise increases or decreases or changes pitch when turning the wheels while driving.

Keep us posted on what you find.

Noise doesn't change when turning... I think I am gonna try to get a balance ans rotate done, and if that doesn't help its off to the dealer I go....I'll let you guys know what happens!
