Hi, I just wanted to say, I have recieved alot of information on this forum. I love it. I recently bought a 97 nissan maxima, 5sp. I am getting familiar with the car and noticed it pulls to the right, and as I am rounding a curve to the right at any speed, it makes what sounds like a bearing noise. It's kind of a rumble, but at slower speeds, like about 15-20, I can detect a slight low knock, and can somewhat feel it in the floorboard. I am leaning toward the cv joint on the drivers side. But not sure really. I replaced the bearing on the drivers side, but the problem remained the same, as I had suspected it would. Just one of those things. Any input would be appreciated. Has 189,000 miles rotated tires with new on the rear. Problem has always been there. thanks. NO SOUND WHEN ROUNDING LEFT TURN THOUGH.

Sounds like either a bearing or the half shaft needs to be replace...although you put a new bearing in, doesn't mean it stayed together or it possibly came apart. I'd start there and see what you can find. Good luck

The problem stayed exactly the same, so I am pretty sure the new bearing is ok. I think it is the halfshaft also. No other ideas on how to pinpoint the problem, or is it just trial and error. thanks again.

thanks anyway, I know its not an easy one. I'll keep plugging away. I pulled the axle out on the drivers side, and the cv seems sorta stiff in spots. If I remember correct it should be a little stiff, but not catching up in places.
