The Maxima actually has a sway bar (traction bar, stabilizer bar, anti-roll bar, whatever you want to call it) in the front.

Wheel hop is really just an unfortunate side effect of FWD's dynamics. It's more of an issue than RWD, even without sway bars, because FWD shifts weight off the drive wheels during acceleration, where RWD shifts weight ONTO the drive wheels.

The BEST way to prevent wheel hop is with a limited slip differential. It'll keep just one wheel from spinning, which is what causes wheel hop for the most part. With an LSD you may still get a little wheel hop, but it'll be brought under control quickly.

You could also install a stiffer sway bar.

However, stiff front sway bars aren't really ideal as far as overall handling. In general, the stiffer your front sway bar is, the greater the car's tendency to understeer will be. And since FWD cars are already very prone to understeer, that's not really ideal when it comes to handling overall. A stiffer rear sway bar and softer front sway bar is the ideal setup for reducing understeer. But of course totally eliminating the front sway bar leads to other negative side effects...so you have to find a balance.

Of course, there is also another, simpler option: Better tires.Better (superior traction) tires won't slip as easily, and thus won't be as prone to wheel hop.

Lots of wheel hop might also be a sign that you need new shocks, as good shocks should also go a long way toward dampening wheel hop.

i had the same problem but when i switched shocks everything was fine but i have adjustables so you can stiffen the suspension when you want..I also recommend the stillen sway bars, probably one of the best upgrades i've ever done...GOOD LUCK BRO TELL ME HOW IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU!!

1. tires outa balance?2. brembo blanks eliminate the stock rotor warp.3. upgrade strut to adjustable strut or coilover.4. sway bar bushings.
