yes, I searched, first post as a "new" member had an account before but forgot all login info, haven't been on since 2006!

EDIT: sorry car is 1995 240sx SE

Hi all, had my 240 for 2 years till I rear ended some women who stopped on a highway in December of 2006. I am finally getting around to fixing it. Here lies my problem, I took all the parts of months ago, and do not exactly know how to put it together!

The entire right side was smashed, not bad, no frame damage just some upper rail damage on the right side, and front retainer issues. Body wise the bumper split, the bumper reinforcement bar was bent on the right about 2 inches, the hood was bent, and the lights on the right were cracked. I picked up a entire front bumper (bumper cover, reinforcement bar, foam absorber, bumper lights and side markers), a new right fender, hood, and the right headlight assembly. All for $750 not bad considering it's already painted black in near perfect condition!

The car is at a body shop now getting the rail and front frame (that holds the radiator hood latch) welded or whatever.

Questions: Does anybody have pics of there car with bumper missing and such (the more the better)?Or perhaps a diagram?I am going to have my car towed to an auto repair shop once the body work is done to get the radiator, a/c condenser, and fan clutch/fan put on, should I have him do anything else while it’s their? Should I have him drain the gas tank, since it’s been sitting since Dec. 2006?Basically I am going to get it running at the shop, then drive it home without a hood or bumper (yes nice and slow), and put the body parts on.

For a great deal of your questions regarding repairs download the appropriate FSM for you car when you click on the FSM link in my signature.

Concerning the gas in the tank, it is ulimately your choice. Some people will go out and buy a "Fuel Stabilizer" product add it to the tank and be done with it. While others will drain the gas and add "fresh" gas to the tank.

Thank you very much, I could not find the FSM anywhere online for free, every place I went to download it said it was unavailable... I think I will go with the fuel stabilizer route, I have only put 93 or higher octane in it, and it only had a quarter of a tank left. I just hope it starts up!

Can you think of anything else that I should have the mechanic look before we fire it up? It was inspected 3 months before i was in an accident and the water pump/alternator/clutch/ were all changed 6 months before the accident. My main concern is its been sitting for 1.5 years.

also will the car run without the headlights or any marking lights attached or will I get an airbag warning?

Click here for the 1995 240sx with KA24DE FSM

Click here if you have a SR20DET engine in your S14

Other than the gas, check the normal maintenance stuff. (IE: Oil level, radiator fluid, etc.)

Yes, it is an S14. The airbags never deployed, I barely felt the hit. The road was slick from a mist of rain, and I was slamming on the breaks so I my nose was down, and for some reason the car in front of me was slamming on her breaks (there were no cars in front of her), so her rear end was pitched up. So I slid under... I incurred all the damage, she had minor scrapes on her civic ex...

I do have pics someplace, I can't seam to find them though, I will look more later, going for tennis now.
