Front end failure, again!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

At about 17k miles, my left front wheel bearing went and now at 27k miles my right front wheel hub is gone! No offroading is done, nor do I hit potholes. It's a 2008 AWD EX35, here in Canada. Steve... are you or anyone else seeing a unusual amount of failures like this or am i the only one with parts sourced fom Mattel?

What size wheels do you have?
What kind of driving do you tend to do? Small trips? Commute?

I don't want to defend crap products but you really never know. Wheel bearings were considerably more common on early Gs and FX but the way they are designed now replacement is fairly easy.

Not to make this another bash Canada thread but the temperature swing from cold to brake operating temperature several times a day on average. Water and road chemicals can get in there too and cause some premature wear.

From what I have seen the replacements tend to be of higher quality....... But in <30k(miles?) having both front bearings is not unheard of but it is not really common. It's just that there are so many factors that could effect the lifespan of a bearing.

I too have a 2008 EX35, and from Toronto but have no problems with mine. (knock on wood) I've also not been too careful on avoiding potholes, so it maybe an isolated case sorry to say...
