Ok so im in the market for a new fmic set up, with future plans of front end conversion
(Black S13 hatch ca18det)

I wanna know wat u guys opinion wud be...

Kouki 180 type x front end with ssautocrome or mspec intercooler

Or

S15 front end with PBM high mount intercooler.

My issues are, the pbm kit as great res ponse due to short piping etc etc
So that wud be my intercooler if choice, but im originally goin kouki front but id
Give up the ability to close the headlights with the pbm.....which im not a fan of

Or i cud go s15 and still use the pbm kit no problem.

Just real curious as to what some of you would consider doing.

The car is my daily for now and im in florida so heat is a big thing.

s15 pbm imo... but they are very different though..

some love pop ups... some hate them, like me

i think its obvious which would be cheaper, but also which is more rare?

I would go PBM HMIC and do this conversion:

180sx with Silvia hood

Cheaper than any Silvia conversion and functional. With the PBM HMIC, you'll lose 30lbs up front because you have to ditch A/C. The pop-ups weigh something like 13 lbs each.

Throw in a carbon fiber or fiber glass hood & you're looking at getting rid of over 80 lbs from the nose end of your car. Even more if you relocate the battery to the back and/or are going from KA to SR...
