Front driver's side power seat issues

My 2001 I30 front driver seat does not move forward or backward but it does adjust up and down. Anyone know if this will require a new adjuster? (Not looking to spend $500 for a new adjuster)

You can try tapping the motor, that has been known to work sometimes. Generally speaking though the only real solution is to replace the motor. You could try getting one out of a vehicle that has been wrecked if you want to save money.
