I have the same problem, instead of pulling it out with your finger push up and toward the engine on the bottom lip of the dash kit (kinda underneath) the button should pop out on its own.

I works for me, and it doesn't bother me enough to figure out a way to fix it. By the way, I do not think another dash kit (metra) will work. I have put two different head units in my car using that dash kit and both of them did that.

I had the same problem. The metra dash kit sucks. I ordered the center panel that fits double din stereo's.

loosen the two bolts at the bottom of the dash kit. That fix the problem.

I had the same problem but it went away. Then the kit warped on me do to it not having anything to support my hu in the back. I then got a dashkit from bestkits which seems to be doing good for now.

Notice I don't have the box around the temp controls and the texture of the plastic is the same as the texture of the plastic around the air vents above.

My metra kit has started the same problem...Did you order just the center panel? Or do you need the nav brackets as well?

nope which is the main reason why i want to switch it out. I could live with sticky buttons if it matched perfectly. Here is a pic of mine. (i know my signiture says pioneer d3 and i obviously have a kenwood, just keep forgetting to change my sig)

is there a way to use the metra internal mounting stuff and the OEM face that papawu got?..there is still a gap between the face and the head unit if you can see it...i wouldnt want this...the metra double din face trim would eliminate this...

Depends on the player, on my Alpine I couldn't get it to fit. I just live with the gap.

I think you are right, I believe I did use the metra mounting hardware and the OEM face. I have the metra face but was disappointed in the way their faceplate fitted. That is why i purchased the OEM face. I'm glad I did since the radio looks more factory minus the gab.

damn i didnt notice the gap... now im torn again...

The kenwood I have is the 5120. As for the Sirius it is awesome to have everything all in one unit but you cant rewind or anything which sucks. I am thinking about reinstalling the Sportster 5 i had in the compartment below the radio.

Yup, but it didn't fit. But it may fit around another double din. I would like to fabricate something but I just don't have the resources down here to do so.
