Front cover oil leak.

Hi! I have an oil leak that seems to be coming from the seam between the front head cover and the head. But I am not that sure. Is there oil passing between the block and the head too or is it only coolant?

I ask because if only coolant passes through, then the only source of oil would be where the timing chain is located. I.e, the only source for the leak would be forward of it where the front cover meets the head and the top of the lower front cover.

Would I be able fix the oil leak if I take the cover out, clean the surfaces out (even the forward part of the head gasket), apply liquid gasket, and then torque it down?
