front clip, that way you know you have EVERYTHING

sometimes sourcing down parts for an incomplete motor cost a lot

you can also salvage the parts off of the clip... I sold the stock brakes for 100, stock radiator for 50, stock clutch for 30, digital climate control 150$, gauge cluster 80$.... etc

these little things helps offset the cost of the clip

I agree, I went with a motorset for my CA, should have gone a clip, and hope to for the next engine, if I can still find CA clips...

if u buy a clip, u may also get minor goodies such as bov's and maybe a few minor nick nacks. also the clutch will be un touched so chances are u could get an aftermarket clutch. if you order a motorset and they see there's a nice clutch or other parts they will take them and give you stock.

Honestly, the clip is a pain because you have to get rid of the shell. My buddy couldn't get a breaking yard to take it (no scrappers local, just j-yards) so he ended up leaving it in his dad's back 40 under a tree. I got a motorset and because the place I got it from was so cool, everything but the intercooler was provided. I even got a brand new SR T25G and clutch! Although, places like Jarco are AMAZING if you get a clip. Theirs usually come with fuel pump and rear diff. It is also WAY more expensive to ship a clip (my motorset was $280 from Georgia to Texas, delivered to my door).

Yea, I was convinced to get a motorset before, it didn't turn out well. I just like being able to start the engine, and see that everything is truely there. you can always sawzall the front clip and leave pieces in random dumpsters, lol. Or make a BBQ pit. hehehehe

When i did my sr20 swap i bought a (95) front clip it also came w/ tein front susp, z32 calipers, some kinda after market antiroll bar and a bov, So sumtimes u get a buncha good stuff w/ur clip. Also for the peace of mind u get from not worrying about missing parts is worth it

Agreed. Piecing together your swap can be a pain, from what a lot of members have said. If you can find a place that gives you EVERYTHING you need to do the swap in a motorset, then you're golden. Otherwise, go for a clip. Plus, like others have said, you might get lucky on the odds and ends that are included!
